Friday, December 06, 2013 Gloversville library to have celebration GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Public Library will hold a “Thank You” celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. at the library to mark the successful completion of the first phase of the capital campaign for a 21st century library. Friends and Family Division co-chairs David Heacock and Ellen Wood will be announcing the total dollars raised to date toward the renovation project.   The library’s trustees hired architectural firm Butler Rowland Mays to study the building and develop a plan that would be flexible enough to allow the delivery of library services to the community for generations to come. The plan includes access to all levels, the conversion of the lower level into a youth center including a children’s library and teen room, multiple program and classroom spaces, state-of-the-art technology throughout and a new HVAC system.
