2018 Community Project

Every year we develop a community project that EVERYONE can participate in.  In 2016, "Exercise Your Mind" celebrated the summer Olympics and we challenged the community to exercise, to walk, run, bike, swim, or just move, 2,016 miles, from Gloversville to the Rio Grande National Forest in the southwest corner of Colorado.  We moved over 2,700 miles and ended up at the Pacific Ocean.  In 2017, for "Build a Better World", the community knitted, crocheted, and donated yarn to make over 60 hats for chemo patients at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

This year, "Libraries Rock!" has inspired a bottle and can drive to benefit the elementary music programs at GESD.  We want to help insure that access to music is available to any child in the district who wants to participate because art and music are keys to helping children see beauty, possibility, and explore the world.
